These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your use of SuriWorld (suriworld.com), published by MijnAIomgeving B.V. By visiting or using SuriWorld, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who we are
SuriWorld is published by MijnAIomgeving B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce / KVK no. 92101550), registered at Duintopstraat 11, 1361BJ Almere, the Netherlands.
Description of the service
SuriWorld is an AI-assisted news and video platform for the Surinamese diaspora. We publish short videos ('reels') and in-depth article series ('dossiers'), some of which are produced with the help of artificial intelligence. In addition to suriworld.com, we also publish (some of) this content on our own channels on Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Threads, YouTube, TikTok, Telegram, and WhatsApp.
Age requirement
SuriWorld is not directed at children under 16. By using interactive features (subscribing to the digest, enabling push notifications, reacting to reels or polls), you confirm you are 16 or older, or that you have parental/guardian consent.
Digest and push notifications
Signing up for our email digest and push notifications is always voluntary and opt-in. You can unsubscribe or opt out at any time, free of charge — see our Privacy Policy for exactly how.
Acceptable use
You may not use SuriWorld to: disrupt or place excessive load on the service (for example, automated scraping beyond what robots.txt permits); misuse reactions, polls, or forms for spam or manipulation; impersonate someone else; or violate applicable law. We may restrict or block access to interactive features in case of misuse.
AI-generated content
Some content on SuriWorld is generated with the help of artificial intelligence and then passes through a fact-checking process before publication. Despite this review, content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. SuriWorld is an editorial/informational platform and not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or medical advice. Spotted an error? Report it to info@suriworld.com and we'll correct it as quickly as possible.
Intellectual property
All content on SuriWorld — text, reels, dossiers, design, and logos — is owned by MijnAIomgeving B.V. or by parties whose content we use under license, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. Names, logos, and trademarks of third-party platforms (including Meta, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and TikTok) belong to their respective owners; their use on SuriWorld does not imply any partnership with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from those platforms, beyond the fact that we publish content there as a publisher via their official APIs.
Third-party platforms and embedded content
Reels on SuriWorld are shown via the privacy-enhanced YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com). By playing a video you also agree to YouTube's Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). Content you reach via links to, or embeds of, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or TikTok is governed by those platforms' own terms of use, over which we have no control.
Availability and warranties
We work to keep SuriWorld available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service is provided 'as is', without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MijnAIomgeving B.V. is not liable for indirect damages, consequential damages, or lost profits arising from your use of SuriWorld. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continued use of SuriWorld after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent Dutch court, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
